Young Women Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
The Young Women Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Award is a program established to recognize female high school athletes in 33 Massachusetts communities who exhibit exemplary leadership, sportsmanship, athleticism, and academic excellence.
The award shall consist of a $1,000 scholarship awarded to one athlete from each of the 31 participating schools for each field hockey, basketball/ice hockey, and softball season. The recipient must be a female senior at one of the 31 participating schools in either the Bay State Conference, the Hockomock League or the Tri-Valley League. The recipient shall demonstrate scholarship by attaining a minimum B average. She must have competed at least 1 year on the Varsity team and must exemplify discipline, commitment and teamwork. The recipient shall use the scholarship to pay expenses billed by the college or university of her choice.
Each high school is limited to one nomination per seasonal sport. It will be the responsibility of the local high school to determine how the nominee will be selected. The selection committee shall consist of Principals, School Administrators, Athletic Directors, and Coaches from each school. The committee will select one award winner from each sport, utilizing the results from the criteria at its discretion.
